A few simple habits keep buying and selling locally fun and safe. Here's how the Irreklama community looks out for each other.
Meet in public, well-lit places
Coffee shops, shopping centres, and busy plazas in Sliema, Valletta, Victoria or Mosta work great. Bring a friend for higher-value items.
Inspect before you pay
Always see the item in person and test it (turn it on, try the zip, check the screen). For phones and laptops, ask for the IMEI/serial.
Use cash or instant bank transfer in person
Pay only when you have the item in your hands. Avoid wire transfers, gift cards, or "pay first, ship later" arrangements with strangers.
Keep conversations on Irreklama
We can only help you if the chat lives on the platform. Be wary of anyone who wants to switch to email or another app immediately.
Trust your gut
If a deal feels too good to be true, it usually is. If a buyer is pushy or asks for personal info you don't need to share — walk away.
Report what doesn't belong
Use the Report button on any listing or profile. We review every report and act fast on scams or banned items.
